BARTLETT —  Selectmen Tuesday swore into office James Langdon Jr as Chief and Dan Robinson as Deputy Chief.

"We are very proud of both of them and blessed to have them leading the department. Congratulations to you both," said a post on Bartlett Firefighters Association.

The Sun spoke to selectmen's chair Gene Chandler and selectmen's representative to the fire department Ron Munro on Wednesday. Munro said there were three applicants for the chief's job. The top pick was sent to selectmen for an interview.

"I am thrilled with that setup," said Munro, of Langdon and Robinson. "I think it's the best that we could possibly have right now."

He said Langdon has been with the department for many years.

Langdon has been acting chief since April 15, 2025 when Bartlett Fire Chief, Jeffrey Currier, was placed on a non-disciplinary paid administrative leave. Currier said he was stepping down on Sept. 5, 2025.

The Sun asked Chandler why Currier was placed on leave and Chandler said he could only say Currier is no longer with the department.
