CONWAY — “To me, this is the realization of what everyone has achieved here — it’s a culmination of all the dreams of all the people who stepped off those snow trains in the old days, or who drove up and down from Massachusetts to ski here every weekend. It’s just something that we’ve all waited for.”

Those were the words of 1972 American Olympic skier Tyler Palmer of Kearsarge, speaking after a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday on the steps of the new Eastern Slope Branch of the New England Ski Museum in the former North Conway Community Center.
