CHATHAM — The Chatham Historical Society, located in the old schoolhouse in Chatham Center, will host an ice cream social and stories of Old Chatham on Friday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. The locally made ice cream will sell for $2 per bowl (with toppings) to raise funds for continuing improvements.

The old schoolhouse, which the Chatham Historical Society acquired from the town in May 2018, was recently added to the New Hampshire Registry of Historic Places, being the last K-8 one-room schoolhouse to close in the state.
