How the delegation voted Feb. 19. (TERRY LEAVITT CHART)

By Steve Woodcock, special to The Conway Daily Sun

CONCORD — Black History Month was alive and well at the House of Representative’s session last Thursday, Feb. 19. The Rev. Renee Rouse opened the session. During her brief narrative she noted that her dad, the Hon. Henry Richardson, was the first Black representative in the N.H. House. The former chaplain at Phillips Exeter Academy, the Rev. Robert Thompson, used his outstanding baritone voice to provide a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The session concluded with the chairwoman of the House Black Caucus, Rep. Linda Harriott-Gathright (D-Nashua) reading the names of all the former and present Black representatives who served in the New Hampshire House.
