FRYEBURG, Maine — With the selectmen's blessing, the town's contracted assessor is going to raise property values 20 percent so the town doesn't run the risk of losing state subsidies because its property assessments are so far below actual market prices.

Bob Konczal of Atlantic Valuation Services, based in Scarborough, Maine, met with selectmen last Thursday. He became the town's contracted assessor in April.
