FREEDOM — If roads aren’t being brought up to snuff in Freedom this year, don’t blame the road agent, selectmen’s chairman Les Babb said recently, adding that the board has had to cut road spending in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s projected impact on town revenues.

In a call to the Sun last week, Babb said after Gov. Chris Sununu shut down the state in March, selectmen told road agent Scott Brooks that non-emergency road repairs would have to be put on hold.
