Portland — Gordon Drisko passed away on August 20, 2026. Born on March 6, 1944, in Bridgton, Maine, Gordon was the son of the late George Sr. and Avis Lamont Drisko.
Gordon’s academic journey led him to Northeastern University and the University of Southern Maine, where he studied engineering. His career began at General Electric, where he started as a Tool Engineering Apprentice. His talents soon led him to the Electric Aircraft Engine group. In 1970, Gordon moved to Portland, taking on the role of Design Engineer. His expertise and leadership qualities were further recognized at Howell Laboratories, where he ascended from Mechanical Engineer to Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering. After retiring in 2007, Gordon remained an integral part of the company as a member of the Board of Directors.
