CONWAY — With the 10-day filing period set to draw to a close on Friday at 5 p.m., there is just one contested race for town and school offices in Conway.

Conway Town Clerk Louise Inkell says the first week of signups, which began Feb. 25, were “surprisingly slow” with just 10 people throwing their hats into the political ring. Seven of those are incumbents and there are no contested races yet.
