OSSIPEE — An Effingham man was sentenced to between 13 and 40 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting five boys in crimes that occurred between 1996 and last year.

Jose Andujar, 45, asked for an extra 21 months off for earned-time credit, which the judge denied after friends and family urged the court to give Andujar as much prison time as possible. The crimes also helped spur a local state representative to change the law regarding restraining orders.
