Hiking - Nancy Pond

Nancy Pond is located off the Nancy Brook Trail in Hart’s Location. (ED PARSONS PHOTO)

The hike to Nancy Pond goes way back for me. Many years ago, I met New Yorker Carl Schildkraut on the trail. I left him and continued past the ponds, and climbed the trailless Mounts Lowell and Anderson. I sent him my column. Close to tears, he framed it and put it on his wall, and I’ve taken him on hikes most summers since, including this summer.

This Wednesday, my hiking friends Pam and Bruce Andruskiewicz climbed the Nancy Pond Trail and loved the hike. I sent this column to them beforehand, so they would go with some prior knowledge. For hikers who haven’t been there, this is an offering for you.
