BROWNFIELD, Maine — Planning board members Tuesday voted to oust Cynthia Willets from the position of chairwoman saying that she wasn’t getting business done in a timely way.

The planning board consists of Mitch Dondero, Nubi Duncan, Leonard Jean, Sonia Frye, alternate Kurt Wood and Willets, who remains on the board but is no longer the chair. The board is supposed to consist of five members and two alternates. It is missing one alternate, and the town is advertising to fill that position. Willets has been replaced as chair, at least temporarily, by Duncan.
