BARTLETT — Bartlett needs to do more to attract and retain employees at the Josiah Bartlett Elementary School according to Sean McCarthy, a special education one-to-one aide, who plans to submit six warrant articles next March to address the shortfalls he sees daily.

For the past two years, McCarthy has sought to improve pay for non-contracted and contracted employees at JBES. In 2023, at the annual school district meeting, he successfully increased the budget by $135,008, essentially giving all non-teaching staff a $4.25-per-hour raise. and a 3 percent performance increase on top of that.
