CONWAY — The Federal Aviation Administration predicts that by 2031 there will be a shortage of 31,000 aircraft mechanics as the industry continues to grow. To help fill those positions, the Mount Washington Valley Career and Technical Center and Eastern Slope Aviation Academy have created a pathway to a career in aviation if students want to pursue it.
The two organizations worked to secure a $500,000 grant from the FAA, which is granting 32 schools $13.5 million for training future pilots and technicians. The financial assistance comes from Aviation Workforce Development Grants.
