CONWAY — A man who allegedly exposed himself in Walmart failed to appear for an arraignment in circuit court Tuesday morning.
Police charged Jayson Rines, 25, of Tamworth with indecent exposure/gross lewdness for an incident alleged to have taken place at the North Conway Walmart on May 18 at 1:20 p.m. The complaint said Rines "knowingly exposed" his genitals "under circumstances which the defendant should have known would cause affront," in the toy aisle of Walmart "in very close proximity to a female shopper."
Rines was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. He also was ordered to have no contact with Walmart.
But when Circuit Judge Gerard Boyle called Rines' case, Rines was a no-show.
"Defendant failed to appear, bench warrant issued, bail set by court at $500 cash on the Class A misdemeanor," said Boyle.
If found guilty, Rines could face a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
The prosecutor was Sgt. William Strong of Conway Police.
