FRYEBURG, Maine — As forecasted, rain showers ended early Saturday morning, and there were partly cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine for the third annual Aviation Day hosted by the Eastern Slope Aviation Academy at Eastern Slope Regional Airport, allowing for clear takeoffs and lots of activity to take place at the Fryeburg airport, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

“It was an absolute success,” said Ed Bergeron, executive director of the academy, who also is a local weather expert, appearing on WMWV 93.5-FM’s “Morning Weather Show” to rate each day’ on a scale from 5 cents to a top rating of 50 cents.
