The Cook Memorial Library will host a talk by Tom Sanderson, who will share his first-hand knowledge, research and analysis of global disruptive forces on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. If you are wondering what these are, consider the following: geostrategic friction, frontier markets, cyberthreats, trade wars, energy, terrorism, global health, corruption and demographics. Sanderson’s talk will draw on his 25 years of field work across 70 countries, revealing the texture, connectivity and implications of the challenges confronting the world.
Sources include private sector leaders, government officials, violent extremists, academics, traffickers, clergy, refugees and NGOs. Film, photos and interviews from boardrooms to war zones offer vivid testimony and analysis along the frontlines of global risk and transformation. Sanderson is a consultant and the co-founder and former director of the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Sanderson is a course instructor for the U.S. government, provides detailed briefings to U.S. and foreign intelligence partners, and delivers global risk assessments and advisory services for the private sector, media, NGO. This promises to be an intellectually stimulating presentation.
