The Friends of the Jackson Public Library will be presenting “The Building Blocks of an Investment Portfolio” on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Jackson Public Library. This program will be presented by local chartered financial analyst Laurie Gabriel. Using her more than 30 years of financial asset management experience, Gabriel will discuss the building blocks of an investment portfolio; the key drivers of returns for various investments; identify risks and ways to mitigate those risks; and suggest ways you can create your own investment portfolio and keep it in balance as your needs and circumstances change. This will be an interactive session with questions welcome throughout.

Gabriel retired as one of three managing partners at the Boston-based Wellington Management Company in June 2008. She joined Wellington Management in 1976 upon graduation from Tufts University, where she earned a bachelor's in economics, magna cum laude. In retirement, Gabriel is spending time on travel and active outdoor sports, as well working with several non-profit organizations. She currently serves on the Tufts board of trustees, is chair of the Investment Committee of New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, is a member of Cummings Foundation’s board and is the vice-chair of The Nature Conservancy-New Hampshire.
