As many of you have probably noticed, the local community columns no longer run weekly. The Fryeburg column can now be found on the first and third Wednesday of the month. So, that all of your news can be included in my column, please keep in mind that information will need to be sent to me at least two weeks in advance of your event. I appreciate all of the news that I receive and don’t want to miss your upcoming events, so please keep them coming.

The annual Fryeburg Rescue pig roast and turkey dinner will take place on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Craft Barn at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. This event offers up a delicious meal including locally raised pork, corn-on-the-cob and much more. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Pay cash at the door. Their motto is: "We do more than fix you up; we fix a pretty good meal, too."
