Shirley T. Ohl, 69, of Glen, died Tuesday, July 8, at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of John Joseph and Thelma (Nichols) Cugeber. She lived in Sherborn, Mass. for 36 years before moving to Glen in 1993. She was a crisis intervention officer with Sherborn Police Department for 18 years, as well as a member of Sherborn Fire and Rescue Department for many years before retiring as Captain. She was also a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the Marine Corps League and the American Legion, as well as an active member of Frontier Nursing Association.She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles B. Ohl Sr. of Glen; son Charles B. Ohl Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y.; two grandchildren; her brother, John C. Cugeber of Marysville, Ohio; two sisters, Thelma L. Waterston of North Creek, N.Y. and Barbara J. Cugeber-Merva of Brook Park, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 14 at 1 p.m. at Christ Church Episcopal in North Conway, with the Rev. Susan Buchanan, rector, officiating. There will also be a memorial service held on Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at St. Pauls Church in Dedham, Mass. There will be no visiting hours. Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.
