Sam Solomon died peacefully in his sleep at Sunbridge Nursing Home in North Conway on Wednesday, Oct. 6. He was 101 years old.Sam Solomon was born in Romania and came to the U.S. as a child.Sam was one offive children.He lived in New York for over 90 years coming to New Hampshire in 1999to be near his son and daughter-in-law. He worked as a millinery operator as a young man. He enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh, and often imitated old-time singers for the entertainment of others.His wife Etta predeceased him in 1982 and he is survived by his son, Stanley, daughter-in-law Dorothy, grandchildren Mitchell Solomon, Jay Solomon and wife, Melissa, as well as three great-grandchildren, Amanda Paige Solomon, Emily Elizabeth Solomon and Rebecca Nicole Solomon.The funeral will take place in New York on Sunday, Oct. 10.
