Libraries serve as a hub for activity, information, resources and gathering community. Although they are filled with books and computers, not all visitors come for the purpose of utilizing them, and that’s not always a bad thing.

Often, young people lack the privileges and guidance that allow or encourage access to after school activities or constructive ways to fill their summer days. They may lack healthy attachments with adults — be it dealing with life challenges or having caregivers that work over time to care for them.
