Monday, Jan. 21, is the day we will recognize the birthday, legacy and life’s work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader who often comes to mind when we talk about peaceful protest, and resisting discrimination.

Libraries are wonderful places to celebrate leaders such as he, simply by reading their stories and carrying on their missions of social justice and peace. We see this example every day as people in our community come together and support each other through simple acts of kindness and friendship.
