FREEDOM — The Freedom Firefighters Association has postponed its fourth annual Ice Fishing Derby to Feb. 1.

Originally, the derby, which is held on Loon Lake was to be held on Jan. 18 but it was postponed due to ice conditions, said Freedom Fire Chief Rob Cunio.

"The weather has not cooperated with us this year and our goal is to have a safe fun day," said Cunio in an email.

Bob house tickets are still available as well as pre-registration. If the current weather pattern persists, they will check conditions prior to Feb. 1. There are two categories in the contest: trout and other legal species. Fishing prizes are based on largest fish by weight.

The first prize for adults is $200 and five free Bob house raffle tickets. The first prize for youth is $100 and four tip-ups. Burgers, hot dogs and sodas will be available for purchase.

For more infomation or to register, go to Freedom NH Fire Department on Facebook or call the Fire Station at (603) 539-4261.
