Obituary: William H. Elliott Jr.

It is with a sad heart that we share that William (Bill) H. Elliott Jr. passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 25, 2025 at the age of 89 after a long, full life. Maureen, his loving wife of 63 years, his family, his friends of the town of Freedom, and his friends and colleagues up and down the Eastern seaboard mourn him.

We invite you to say a prayer for Bill in Heaven, where we are sure he is making friends, telling a joke or two and asking what someone’s T-shirt says or being curious about the writing on the hat you’re wearing. He was without a doubt, the official, unofficial “mayor” of the town of Freedom, N.H., making friends and shedding a tear or two with the community in his daily rounds about town.
