Philip E. Lovejoy, 83, of Parsonsfield, Maine, died peacefully at his home with family by his side on Aug. 31, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, Maine, on July 27, 1934 a son of Leon and Dorothy Green Lovejoy and grew up in North Waterford, Maine. He attended Waterford schools and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, Class of 1952. Gould Academy and his classmates always held a special place in his heart. He attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and then proudly served four years in the Air Force, honorably discharged in 1957 as a staff sergeant.
