LaRue Sares Boenig of Henderson, Nev., passed away suddenly on Nov. 12, 2017, as a result of injuries suffered in November from a tragic traffic accident. She was 86 years young.

LaRue was born in Chicago on Sept. 10, 1931, the daughter of John and Isabella Sares. After graduating from the prestigious North Park Academy in Chicago, she joined the University of Illinois (Chicago) and, after a long and successful career as head cashier she retired and moved to Las Vegas, where she married Walter Boenig. They were later divorced.
