Elizabeth "Bette" Burns passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 10, 1937 in Haverhill, Mass., to Elizabeth and John Lebor she was the light of Johnny's eyes.

Bette spent 74 years of her life living on Plum Island and as a child excelled at dancing, figure skating and ultimately was the founder of the Haverhill, Newburyport and Georgetown skating clubs. Along with her Dad she opened and operated the Bette Marie restaurant on Plum Island for many years, and prior to her retirement, worked as a receptionist for the Anna Jaques Hospital radiology department.
