Conway Public Library is pleased to announce Tara McKenzie, of Campton, has accepted the position of Head of Youth Services. The Library Board of Trustees approved the hire at its June 16 meeting and Ms. McKenzie started June 30. Her experience working with a variety of age groups in a public library setting and her commitment to children's librarianship by virtue of being the President of the New Hampshire Children's Librarian Association (CHILIS) placed her at the top of a pool of well qualified applicants for the position. Ms. McKenzie's position marks the first time the library has had one librarian dedicated to youth services on a full time basis. Her hiring, and the shifting of resources it represents, reflects the steadfast commitment CPL has to the youth of Conway. Tara is looking forward to meeting the variety of individuals and institutions that make up our community. Please feel free to stop by to meet her and wish her well.
