CONWAY — White Mountain Community Health Center is doing its part to address the opioid crisis in its community through its Medication-Assisted Treatment program. The program was launched in June of 2017 and is provided by a team that includes nurse practitioner Deborah Cross, medical assistant Linda Cooper and social worker Sarah Wright.

MAT is the use of FDA-approved medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. There is medication-assisted treatment available for opioid-use disorder, alcohol-use disorder and smoking. The program is open to anyone in the community who is ready to start the road to recovery.
