CONWAY — Dustin Forrest, APRN, CDE has joined the staff at Integrated Optimal Health and Choice Center for Diabetes and Weight Loss and is accepting new patients.

Forrest is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and St. Joseph College in Standish, Maine. He met the requirements to receive his certification in diabetes education in 2018.  

Integrated Optimal Health’s Choice Center for Diabetes has had offices at 45 Washington St. in Conway since 2013 and is an accredited American Association of Diabetes Educators Diabetes Center since 2014.

“We have long waited for a qualified family nurse practitioner, certified diabetes educator, to not only be our prescriber, but also promote health and wellness in our community,” said the center’s owner, Marie Veselsky.

Forrest will practice primary care. He is now accepting new patients with private insurance and/or Medicare. He will provide primary care for patients as well as specializing in diabetes. Patients can visit to receive primary health-care services such as general care and physicals or, if they already have their own primary care doctor, diabetes care.

He plans to be an active member of the community promoting health and wellness.

Forrest looks forward to providing personalized care for his patients with the goal of helping them reach their optimal health through medications as needed, as well as diet and lifestyle changes as appropriate. He emphasizes that people can reduce their risks of developing all chronic disease such as Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol by exercising, proper diet, watching their weight and maintaining good self-care.
