JACKSON — At a moment when democracy feels both essential and fragile, the Mount Washington Valley community is invited to pause, reflect, and ask a simple but powerful question: Why democracy?

On Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at 4 p.m., the Whitney Community Center, located at 16 Black Mountain Road in Jackson, will host "Why Democracy?", a free, timely and engaging program presented by Dr. Josh Duclos of St. Paul’s School in Concord.
