Computers, they’re everywhere. On our desks, in our cars, at home in our appliances. Most of us are probably walking around with computers in our pockets that are more powerful than those on board the first space shuttle. Yet when it comes to knowing how they work, for most of us, they are still a big mystery.

It’s easy to think of computers as being really smart, but in reality, they can only do what they are programmed to do. As the old saying goes, “garbage in, garbage out” meaning that a computer is only as good as the program that runs it. With computers getting smaller and showing up in anything from our appliances, cars to our clothing, it is becoming increasingly important to understand computers and how they work.
