EFFINGHAM — The annual Whoopie Pie Bakeoff at the Effingham Preservation Society is Saturday. It is also their Second Saturday Bake Sale from 9 a.m.-noon (and whoopie pies will be among the bake sale offerings).

Interested in entering? Deliver your baker’s dozen (3-inch and 4-inch pies, flavors welcome) by 10 a.m. for 11 a.m. judging; include an ingredient list. There is a $5 entry fee, which will be pooled and awarded to the winner. The building is at the intersection of Route 153 and Town House Road.
