CONWAY — Mt. Washington Valley Toastmasters invites residents, guests, and former Toastmasters to its open house on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Granite State College (second floor), at 53 Technology Lane in Conway. This club is a diverse group of local residents who have a common goal of improving public speaking and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment.

During the open house members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, Table Topics (impromptu speeches on the week’s theme) and constructive evaluations. Table Topics are a favorite part of the meeting. Members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes, but you only participate if you want to. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet, work on body language, vocal variety, eye contact, proper grammar and usage of filler words like um, so, but and ya know.
