About a dozen residents were given a Dec. 31 deadline to vacate the Chocorua Woods apartments in Tamworth.A couple still have no place to go (DAYMOND STEER PHOTO)
TAMWORTH — The New Hampshire Housing Authority now says that four tenants remain at the subsidized Chocorua Woods apartments, disputing an attorney’s earlier statement that only two were still in the building ahead of its planned Jan. 1 closure. The attorney has since clarified the numbers.
A contract between Sonata Housing, the property owner, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is terminating. In July 2022, Sonata Housing voted to dissolve the non-profit on Dec. 31, 2025.
