The Conway Police Department Running Team recently netted individual and team honors at the 19th running of the N.H. State Police DARE Classic 5k road race.  On Wednesday, Aug. 5, Conway Police Department’s co-ed group of four men and two women joined 1,500 additional runners at the annual race held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. This certified 5k draws competitive runners from all around New England and is a key fund-raiser for NH DARE programs across the state.

The team members were Sgt. George Walker, Cpl. Aimee Parent, Officer Jaymes Lapoint, Officer Chris Mattei, Officer Tom McCormack and Administrative Assistant Lora Santuccio. In addition, helping out the Conway Police Department team were Ty McCormack, age 4, son of Officer McCormack, and Josh Mattei, age 7, son of Officer Chris Mattei. Competing in the tough Law Enforcement Division, they ran their hearts out on this hilly and challenging course. Several members posted personal bests for times at this year’s race.
