If youre looking for an unbeatable holiday shopping experience and a pleasurable night out at the same time, then you should make sure you dont miss An Evening at the Auction, which will be held at St. Andrews-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church on Friday, Nov. 19.The church, located on Whittier Road (Old Route 25) in Tamworth, welcomes all to this fund raiser. Traditionally held on a December Saturday, in conjunction with the churchs holiday fair, it was decided that the auction merited its own place, away from all the hustle and bustle of December activities in our homes and communities. However, the selection of the new date in November will still make it a great time to pick up some perfect Christmas gifts. The festivities at An Evening at the Auction will start at 6 p.m. with a wine and cheese party (no admission fee will be charged, but donations are welcome). The sales, led by longtime auctioneer Tom Troon, are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.There will be an exciting and varied array of merchandise, services and gift certificates donated by area businesses and individualseverything from downhill ski passes this winter to the use of a jet ski next summer, opportunities for dining out or going to a show, picking up a beautiful table runner or a hearth rug, and so much more! You can purchase the ideal gift for family and friends on your shopping list, or maybe just the thing for yourself or your home. Thanks to the generosity of stores, restaurants, resorts, attractions, and others who donate to the annual auction, and all of those people who attend this fundraiser, St. Andrews has an important source of income to support church programs, including outreach to all those local people who are in need this holiday season and throughout the year.St. Andrews holiday fair, Boughs and Bows, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4. Watch for further details.Call the church at 323-8515 for more information about these events, Sunday services, or other ongoing activities at St. Andrews.
