Alice Evelyn Deschambeault, 78, of East Conway, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born in North Conway on Sept. 16, 1928, a daughter of Harold Wentworth Sr. and Florence Eastman (Wentworth) Bell. She grew up in East Conway and graduated from Fryeburg Academy, class of 1946. Alice was a lifelong resident of East Conway, where she met and married her husband, Paul J. Deschambeault. As a couple, they started Clover Croft Dairy Farm. Later they started a produce and fruit stand, growing their own vegetables and fruit. They then operated Deschambeault Greenhouses for several decades. She was a former member of the Grange and the Lions Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1977.She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Flannery of East Conway and Beth McMullen of Kentucky; one brother, Harold Wentworth Jr. of East Conway; one sister, Lena McDonald of Portland, Maine; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg, Maine. A graveside service will be held at the convience of the family at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Fryeburg Rescue P.O. Box 177, Fryeburg, ME 04037, or the East Conway Fire Department, 2644 East Conway Road, Center Conway, NH 03813, or Hospice Care Services of Northern Carroll County, P.O. Box 432, North Conway, NH 03860.
