Evelyn Whelton, president of the Rotary Club of North Conway, was happy to present Bill Volk and Doug Morehouse, board members of Mount Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity, with $1,000 to aid in the building of the most recent Habitat home. Mount Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of local families in need of a simple affordable home.

According to Volk, President of Mount Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity, “Our purpose is to build homes with qualified families and sell them to the families at no profit and with a zero percent interest rate mortgage. This allows us to help families who may not otherwise afford a home. These families, in turn, contribute at least 300 hours of sweat equity into their new habitat home.”
