CONWAY — Valley luminaries turned out last Friday to join radio station staff in celebrating the 50th anniversary of 93.5-FM, the station founded on that frequency by Skip and Joan Sherman and known since 1979 by the call letters WMWV.

“It was extraordinary,” said longtime former radio personality George Cleveland, now of the Gibson Center for Senior Services, who was joined by former fellow “Drive Time” co-host Cynthia Hall, now of Memorial Hospital; Chet and A.O. Lucy, formerly of Conway Supply; Ray and Beth Leavitt of Leavitt’s Country Bakery; Bobbi and Briggs Bunker of “Morning Weather Show” daily weather rating fame; former “Sports Talk” co-host John Carey; Brian Smith of North Country Fair Jewelers; and musician Peter Heimlich of Tamworth, among others.
