LONDONDERRY — On a day much better suited for indoor activities, the Kennett High track team made the long jaunt to Londonderry High School on Saturday for the Division II Track and Field State Championships in Londonderry.

Conditions were less than ideal with the athletes forced to contend with rain, wind and chilly temperatures. Still, Kennett senior and team captain Jonah Katz had a day to remember. He was crowned the state champion in the discus and was the lone Eagle to qualify for the prestigious Meet of Champions at Oyster River in Durham this Saturday.
