Restaurant serves quaility, receives top NH awardLoves Quay of Wolfeboro to be featured tonight on New Hampshire ChronicleLoves Quay restaurant, located on Mill Street overlooking Wolfeboros Back Bay, was recently named Best Granite State Place to Have Lunch, after receiving the most votes on a poll taken by WMUR. News 9 reporter Karen Anderson traveled to Loves Quay last Thursday afternoon to interview owners Michael and Donna Love and to present them with a trophy. She said the story will be featured on New Hampshire Chronicle, tonight at 7:30 pm.The poll, taken for the first time this year, was conducted via a short questionnaire posted on Chronicles website over the course of last week.Specifically, visitors were asked to type in the names of Best Granite State Places for having Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, the location of the restaurant(s) and favorite dish served. Chronicle producer Maryanne Marosca said, The response from people was great, but would not disclose the winners for best breakfast and dinner places. The best breakfast restaurant was revealed last night and the best dinner establishment will be announced on Wednesday nights show, she said.Marosca was unable to recall what the favorite dish served was for Loves Quay and added,The award was given to each restaurant for being the best NH-based place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, in general. The favorite dish served category was more or less optional.Michael and Donna Love have been in the fine dining business for over 25 years and have enjoyed success with The Quay since its opening back in November of 1996. Michael Love said there are a few reasons why he believes people chose his restaurant over others in the state. We use the freshest and finest ingredients in all our dishes; people especially like our seafood, which is delivered fresh every day except Sunday. My wife Donna makes all of the desserts from scratch - our chocolate is imported from Switzerland, cherries from France. Our chefs, seven in total, all graduated from either Johnson and Whales or The Culinary Institute of America. They have also been trained by international chefs from all over the world, including Italy and South America. In addition to the regular menu, which features a variety of Mediterranean, European, Italian, Northern Italian and French dishes, there are 10-15 specials served daily at Loves Quay.Although the restaurant has never received an award of this type before, said Love, It has been written-up in a number of international papers, one of which it was rated a top New England restaurant.
