CONWAY — M&D at Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse will be holding open auditions for "The 39 Steps" by Patrick Barlow and John Buchan, as directed by Ken Martin, on Saturday, May 11, and Monday, May 13, at 2760 White Mountain Highway, North Conway at 6 p.m.

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have "The 39 Steps," a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theater.
