“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” the seventh theatrically released movie of the franchise, benefits from being the first film or TV show in the franchise to actually cast teens as the four pizza-loving, crime-fighting mutant turtles.
Produced and co-written by Seth Rogen, “Mutant Mayhem” leans into the teen aspect of the characters, specifically current-day teens. They have cellphones and make silly videos on them, and use modern slang.
