CONWAY — The Kennett High softball team rallied from a 5-0 first inning deficit to beat arch-rival Kingwood 12-5 on the road in Wolfeboro in its season-opener and first time on a field on Monday.

"It was nice to get the win and nice to come back the way we did," said Peter Ames, Eagles' head coach. "We really didn't play badly, but the thing about being outside is that pitchers haven't had a chance to throw off the dirt (mound)."
