Put another "W" in the victory column for the Fryeburg Academy girls cross country team. With the conference championships just around the corner, the Lady Raiders are rounding in top notch form. On Friday they won a five-team meet at Falmouth Country Club. The news on the boy's front, is the young Raiders are starting to make some strides."It's been a tough fall so far for the boys," Bill Reilly, Raiders', head coach, said. "Although we didn't win at Falmouth they are doing much better. I'm hoping everyone can have their best race at the conference championships."The boys from Fryeburg were fifth on the afternoon, scoring 109 points to fall behind Falmouth, 16; Cape Elizabeth, 56; Poland, 87; and St. Doms, 99.Falmouth's Brandon Bansey won the race in 16:50. "This was a very good tune-up for us against two very good teams in Falmouth and Cape. The girls heard a good chant from the other teams' supporters, 'Break up that Fryeburg pack.' I like what I'm seeing."Next up for the Raiders are the Western Maine Conference Championships in Greely this weekend. "Division II is much stronger than Division I this year," Reilly said. "I see our chief opponents being Yarmouth, Cape and Falmouth."
