FRYEBURG — In the game of the year the defending state champion Leavitt Hornets rallied from a 12-point, fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Fryeburg Academy Raiders 36-32 in the Class C South Regional Finals on Saturday night in Turner, Maine. The Hornets, widely considered the top team in the Pine Tree State were given everything they could handle and more by Coach David Turner’s troops who proved they belonged on the big stage, too.

The Raiders took the opening kickoff and marched right downfield and into the Leavitt end zone for a quick six-point early lead. The extra point kick was blocked.
