CONWAY — Seven bad minutes was the difference between winning and losing for the Kennett High ice hockey team against rival Kingswood on Wednesday night at the Ham Ice Arena. The Eagles were in front 2-0 in the second period and on the power play when things were awry. The Knights scored a shorthanded goal, a goal of a face-off and two power play goals, including one with 11 seconds left in the second period to take a 4-2 lead which turned into an eventual 5-2 victory.

“It was kind of like Groundhog Day, we keeping making the same sort of mistakes,” said Michael Lane, Eagles’ head coach. “We’ve got to learn from these mistakes. Physical mistakes happen and I can live with them, but we’ve got to eliminate the mental ones and play smarter hockey.”
