CONWAY — The Kennett High boys’ tennis team came oh-so-close to hosting a playoff match in the Division II tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles lost two hard-fought 5-4 matches against Plymouth last week to land in sixth place in the final regular season standings. The hometown flock will travel to No. 3 Hollis-Brookline on Tuesday for the opening round of the playoffs.

“Hollis-Brookline is one of the top teams in the division, but any draw in playoffs is tough since only eight (out of 15 schools) get in,” said Joe Murphy, Eagles’ head coach. “Only the best of the best make tournament. We’re expecting to play a very good team.”
