CONWAY — The Kennett High girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 12-2 lead and never looked back as the Eagles rolled past Coe-Brown Northwood Academy 59-36 into the Elite 8 in the Division II tournament after an opening round victory in front of the largest crowd of the season at the Nest on Tuesday.

It’s the second consecutive Elite 8 appearance for the hometown flock, the No. 3 seeds in the playoffs. Kennett will now host No. 6 Spaulding in the quarterfinals on Friday (6:30 p.m.), with a spot in the Final 4 on the line.
